Caris is a descendant of the Yamatji and Noongar peoples of WA. She has held senior roles with BHP as a recruitment specialist, and with Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy and Fertilisers as a Recruitment Services Portfolio Manager and Aboriginal Procurement Advisor. Caris now operates her own business, Wila Winju Consultancy, providing reconciliation plan development, cultural awareness training, and specialist employment and recruitment services advice. Caris was a Community appointment to the Board in 2022.
