The Mid West Development Commission is a Statutory Authority established under the Regional Development Commissions Act 1993.
Its purpose is to promote balanced economic and social development in the Mid West region.
Its objectives include maximising job creation, broadening local economies, identifying the need for infrastructure and services, providing information and advice to business and ensuring equitable access to government services.
The Mid West Development Commission also promotes and facilitates effective partnerships between government and regional communities.
The Commission is seeking nominations from highly motivated and enthusiastic people, who can demonstrate the following:
Possess knowledge and experience relevant to the region;
Decision-making abilities at an executive level;
Demonstrated involvement in the economic and/or social development of the region; and
Ability to work cooperatively to achieve agreed goals across a wide range of economic and social development issues.
People may nominate themselves or others, organisations may also nominate individuals.
Term of appointment will be from one to three years.
To be eligible for the community position, nominees must live in the Mid West region.
Hon Alannah MacTiernan MLC, Minister for Regional Development; Agriculture and Food; Hydrogen Industry, will make the appointment to the Board after consultation with WA state cabinet.
Closing date is Tuesday 13 July 2021 at 4pm. Nominations received after this date will not be accepted.
